ANTIQUUS Archaeological Consultants Ltd.

Founded in 1992 by Mike Rousseau, Antiquus specializes in Archaeological Overview and Impact Assessment throughout British Columbia. For over 15 year, we have conducted work in all areas of the province with a focus on professionalism and safety. We work with a wide variety of clients and First Nation communities to do our best to maintain the integrity of the archaeological record. 

Whenever and wherever possible, we retain local First Nation community members on our crews when undertaking fieldwork within their traditional territories. All our investigations are conducted in an unbiased manner, and the results of our studies are presented without prejudice to issues of Aboriginal Rights and Title. It is important for our clients to note that we only provide recommendations concerning possible management plan options for threatened archaeological resources, and we do not have the authority to approve development projects to commence. A final heritage resource management strategy for each development should be discussed and mutually decided upon by the Archaeology Branch, delegated representatives of involved local First Nation agencies, and development proponents.
